At Seahorse Pools & Spas, we take pride in providing you with the latest pool-building trends, professional maintenance services, and the most advanced swimming pool equipment around. The most valuable thing we can offer, however, will always be guidelines to keep your family and friends safe. May is National Water Safety Month and what better way to kick things off than with a proper introduction to this very important safety movement?
A Collaborative Effort
National Water Safety Month is a combined movement between the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, the American Red Cross, the National Recreation & Park Association and the World Watermark Association. This program aims to encourage safe swimming habits for everyone with the use of social media, advertising campaigns, online tutorials and community events.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports an annual number of 3,000 emergency room visits as a result of submersion accidents. This number is alarmingly high but relatively preventable. With public support, the National Water Safety Month movement can effectively educate the public about the importance of safety guidelines and can encourage safe swimming habits for future generations.
