Pool depth and size
Before you select a swimming pool for your home, consider that the size and depth should be determined according to the type of usage the pool will get. A pool that will be used for leisure and relaxation will be different from one that will be used to swim laps.
At Seahorse Pools and Spas, expert pool building technicians will work with you to custom build a pool ideal for your needs. Contact Seahorse Pools and Spas in Fort Worth at 817-440-4924 for more information.
Choosing pool depth and size
If a pool is going to be used mostly for recreational needs, it does not require great depth. It is adequate to provide a sloped floor which goes from a minimum depth of 36 inches to a maximum of 4 or 5 feet. A recreational pool also does not need to be any particular shape, so you can pick a shape to complement your lot.
Athletic lap swimmers need a long and narrow space with at least 4-5 feet in depth throughout the entire pool to avoid touching the bottom while swimming, and to ensure that turns at the pool’s ends can be performed safely.
